Case study: Brunelcare

Integrating scheduling, payroll and attendance in a large care home group

The project

Brunelcare wanted to replace staff scheduling and payroll analysis software across six care homes involving 300 staff. The new system had to be integrated with an electronic method of recording attendance to prevent staff having to complete manual timesheets. Both the selection process and pilot had to be completed within three months. Read the full case study...

The pilot

easyLog installed a test system – including electronic attendance hardware, tailored e-Log+S software and training – at a single residential home and then made modifications to cover additional hours worked over an employee’s monthly contract and a points-based bonus scheme.

In the second phase, we provided automated data transfer to centralised payroll software. After two months, the scheduling software and clocking hardware was rolled out to five more homes. This was done within a single week, with each home receiving on-site training.

The result

The company now has centralised daily reporting from each care home. The reports highlight issues such as persistent lateness and the costs related to absences. They also provide instant comparisons of actual attendance against allotted shift times, saving managers literally hours of paperwork. They also now spend substantially less time on the monthly payroll run. Read the full case study...

We were particularly impressed that a member of easyLog’s software development team came to discuss the small bespoke development we required to match our pay scheme calculation. For us, this highlighted the company’s attention to detail and displayed their commitment to our deadline.
